    Bellflower High School Athletics will return for voluntary conditioning for Fall Sports. There will be a Parent Informational meeting this week on Google Meet for parents of student athletes in Football, Cross Country, or Volleyball teams.   • Buc of the Month 2020-2021 August & September Congratulations to our August and September Buc of the Month Recipients!

    Our Buc of the Month recognition program recognizes students who embody one or more of our Buc P.R.I.D.E. characteristics of Positivity, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Excellence. Teachers nominate students for various reasons, whether it be for most improved habits, doing well in class, and/or demonstrating great citizenship, these students are to be commended for their efforts.

    Please accept our sincere congratulations for this awesome accomplishment. We wish our students continued success throughout the school year and don't forget Bucs to continue showing Buc P.R.I.D.E. all day, every day!

  • Report Cards NOW on Aeries Parent Portal Only! Quarter 1 Report Cards on Parent Portal Only!

    Starting with the Quarter 1 grading period, report cards will no longer be mailed home. Grades will only be available on the Aeries Parent Portal. The first quarter ends Friday, October 9th and teachers are submitting grades by Tuesday, October 13th.

    Final Quarter 1 grades will be available for viewing on Wednesday, October 14th.

  • Fan Cutouts Seniors in the Stands - Order your very own cutout!

    Just because we aren’t at school doesn’t mean that you can’t “be at school!"

    Upload a high-resolution image of yourself or of your senior and see the cutout at Bellflower High School for only $40.

    Submission deadline - Friday, October 30, 2020 and all proceeds will benefit the Class of 2021. Photo cutouts will be yours to keep and available for pickup at the end of the school year.

  • No School Monday, October 12, 2020 School Closed - No School - Oct. 12, 2020

    Bellflower Middle/High School will be closed on Monday, October 12, 2020. There will be no classes in session. School will resume on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 9:00 am with Periods 1, 3, & 5.

    Meal distribution will still take place in front of the school from 12:20 to 1:06 pm.

  • Heat & Serve Meal Pick-Up! Heat & Serve 5-Day Meal Pick-Up

    As of Monday, September 14th, the cafeteria staff is distributing 5 days of Heat and Serve meals EVERY MONDAY between 12:20 and 1:06 PM at the front driveway of Bellflower Middle/High School on McNab Ave. Students will receive 5 days worth of meals including 5 lunch meals and 5 breakfast meals. Moving forward, 5-Day Meal Pickups will be every Monday through the remainder of distance learning. There will be NO Meal Pickup service Tuesday – Friday.

    If for any reason you are unavailable to pick up your 5-day meals on Monday, please contact the Nutrition Center at 562-866-4192 so that we can schedule your pickup.

    Back to School Night takes place Tuesday, September 15th at 6:00pm in an online format. The night begins with a welcome meeting by the BHS Administrative Team at 6:00 pm, followed by online Google Meet visitations with teachers starting at 6:30 pm.   • NWEA Map NWEA MAP Growth Assessment Happening Now

    Bellflower Middle/High School students will be taking a MAP Growth Test on a computer at home. MAP assessments are designed to measure how well a student is learning critical skills and identifies achievement gaps. It gives teachers detailed, actionable information they can use to guide instruction and better support students.

  • Need a Jetpack WiFi Hotspot? Need a Jetpack WiFi Hotspot?

    The district will be providing limited jetpacks (WiFi Hotspots) that can only be used for school related purposes and access will be limited to school software/programs and the Google apps only. You will not have access to outside online services such as social media websites, video streaming, etc.

  • Distance Learning Schedule and Student Expectations

    Starting Tuesday, August 18th we will follow the Distance Learning Schedule that allows students to meet with their classes and receive additional support. Distance Learning will look very different this semester and Attendance and Grades matter. It is important that students get into the habit of a set schedule, as well as checking their Google Classroom and Student Gmail DAILY!

  • Need a Chromebook? Chromebook Distribution - August 12, 2020

    As we get ready for the first day of school and distance learning, please be aware that participation is now mandatory and all work and class meetings will take place online. It is very important for students to have access to a computer to be able to check email, attend class meetings, and complete assignments. If you require a Chromebook computer, we will be letting students borrow (check-out) a Chromebook on Wednesday, August 12, 2020.

    Additional Information:

    • Chromebooks are being loaned to BHS students only.

    • 5 Digit Student ID Number is REQUIRED for check-out.

    • Please make sure to follow all health guidelines by wearing a mask and practicing social distancing.

  • Mrs. Amy Bellomo, New Assitant Principal Welcome to the Bellflower Buc Family, Mrs. Amy Bellomo!

    Mrs. Amy Bellomo is our newest Assistant Principal, overseeing Attendance, Behavior, and Special Education. She has been an educator in the Bellflower Unified School District since 2006.  She began her career at Mayfair High School as a math teacher.  In 2012, she transferred to the BAE Center and participated in initiating departmentalized instruction and supported students across multiple grade bands. Mrs. Bellomo became the Math Teacher on Special Assignment in 2016 to support the integration of the new math standards at the high school level.  She has spent the last two years working across the District with math curriculum and instruction.  She’s looking forward to working with Bellflower Middle and High School faculty, staff, parents and students to provide quality learning opportunities and positive educational experiences.

Information about the student such as emergency contacts, medical, and language information will be collected. Upon completion, the student's information is electronically sent to the school but is not complete until the school site has reviewed the data and received the appropriate required documents.

    Cold and Flu season is here and we encourage our Bellflower community to help stop the spread of germs by following a few simple tips:

    • Cover your mouth and nose with tissue when you cough or sneeze or cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve, not your hands.
    • Put your used tissue in the waste basket
    • Clean your hands after coughing or sneezing
    • Wash hands with soap and warm water or clean with alcohol-based hand cleaner
